Shanklin has a beautiful and unique mix of countryside, seaside and town.

The wide, sandy beach with watersports for the energetic and deck chairs for those wishing to relax. The Esplanade is packed with places to get refreshments and maybe even an ice-cream and plenty of activities at Shanklin Seafront including traditional amusements, Summer Arcade, Crazy Golf and Pirates Adventure Cove Fun Park.

In the evening the Esplanade is a great spot to sit and watch the world go by maybe with a meal and a drink at one of the seafront restaurants.

Shanklin Old Village and town have a great mix of unique, local independent shops and High Street stores. Fancy a cream tea in the gardens of a beautiful thatched tea room - Shanklin Old Village is the place for you.

If nature and the countryside is more for you then take a walk through Shanklin Chine, a historic gorge and waterfall, a haven for rare plants, woodland and wildlife or head to Big Mead or Rylstone Gardens, you maybe lucky enough to spot a Red Squirrel.

For walkers there is the coastal path into Sandown or the Undercliff  path through Luccombe and Bonchurch and on into Ventnor.

Shanklin Theatre has a become a top entertainment venue attracting big name stars from the worlds of TV, music, musical theatre and comedy. Take a look at their "What's On" guide where you can also book your tickets online.

For something a little different, Rylstone Bandstand host open air concerts during the summer months and Shanklin Old Village plays host to a Ghost Tour
